I know it’s early to put up a Christmas tree, but I am sharing this pic because I truly love Christmas lights. They bring a peace that truly affects my day in a positive way. I put up our Christmas tree and things early every year so I can appreciate them for a long time!
I’ve learned how to cope with difficult situations these days and it’s beautiful. It helps that I have created a daily gratitude habit, a daily movement habit, and my self care is priority. I have also learned more and more about myself and what I need to focus on. I’m learning boundaries. I’m learning that I cannot control others or situations that are truly out of my control. I had reminders yesterday from my husband, friends, and my Balance 365 community (who I can talk about things with that stay with them) that I have to take care of myself, and I cannot help how other people react to my boundaries. God also reminded me that I have to let go of things that I feel that I have to fill the void and trust that He will fill that void with His best.
Yesterday I did Yoga with Adriene and she talked about letting go of control because we don’t have control anyway (while in the corpse pose). Then I did some hiking on our beautiful land and did so much praying and just handing things over to God because they are not mine to carry. I felt a huge release of the need to control everything and immediately felt peace. Being in His creation is transforming.
Daily movement is for so much more than my physical health. It has allowed me so much peace in my days. I don’t want to miss it.
I have a history of struggling with sleep, terribly (being diagnosed with chronic insomnia by one doc). Since I started daily movement and changing a few things that I eat and drink (for my reflux), I have been going to sleep easily. Oh, I also read before bed instead of scrolling Facebook for hours. I’m up super early this morning and I’m enjoying some quiet time before everyone wakes up.
Balance 365 works for so much more than physical health. It has given me the tools to cope with life and things that are hard. It has allowed me the opportunity to learn about what is necessary and what I need to let go of. It is a community of beautiful women who love each other well and always have the right things to say. I truly believe that everyone should be in this program, and I’m so thankful that God provided someone to sponsor me. I’m thankful for their generosity. I wish I knew who it was so I could thank them! But in the meantime, I will utilize the program and allow it to do what it was design to do.
I’m so thankful to the founders of the program and especially Jen because she has been there for me so much. She will chat with me often through messenger. She takes the time to do that despite running a group of 40,000 women and a program with over 1,000 women. She always has the right thing to say.
And I’m thankful for the women friends that I have in my life. My best friend Kari, my amazing friends here at camp, and my friends that I don’t see in person but always have the right thing to say.
Most of all I’m so thankful for my Savior and my amazing husband and kids! I would not be who I am without them. They have been there with me through thick and thin, active addiction, treatment, inpatient mental hospital, quitting jobs constantly, and more. They know how to love and love well.
God has truly blessed me!
